We have designed a series of measuring instruments intended for special EMC measurements. They were developed for our R&D projects. This series of instruments includes items for measurement of electromagnetic fields, for the characterization of cables, and for the characterization of electromagnetic absorbers.
Excem has developed, as from 1994, the SpiceLine software, suitable to create models for the simulation of multiconductor transmission lines. A summary of the capabilities of SpiceLine and the User's guide are available on line. We have used SpiceLine to validate several innovations concerning broadband transmissions.
Presentation of the software folder "Near field 1" is a small book (reference B50) which contains the detail of the computations of our paper "Modèles pour le champ proche d'un émetteur portable" (reference B49) concerning the fields closed to a transmitting antenna. The relatively short text is in english. This book is essentially a collection of commented formulas, of numerical results and of plots, obtained with the Mathcad 2000 Professional software of Mathsoft, Inc (owner of the Mathcad trademark). The whole is easily understandable by en engineer trained in electromagnetic theory, having access to the references cited in the book, and familiar with the Mathcad calculation software.
Presentation of the software folder "Near field 1" comes with a software folder called "Near field 1" containing the file of the book (Adobe Acrobat file), and of the 3 computation worksheets which were used to perform the computations of the book, these worksheets being intended to be used with the Mathcad 2000 Professional software. The international price is 250 euros (shipment not included) for 53 pages A4 and a CD ROM.
Monitoring the performances of Faraday cages is necessary whenever one wishes to be able to guarantee that the systems they contain are effectively shielded from external threats (e.g. lightning, EMP, electromagnetic weapons). Monitoring is also critical when the shielding is intented to avoid an unwanted emission from internal sytems, in order to safeguard confidential information against electromagnetic eavesdropping.
VIG 3 systems are suitable for measuring the shielding effectiveness of Faraday cages or shielded enclosures, in the context of continuous or periodical monitoring, or of acceptance tests.
